Wireless Remote Monitoring System using Raspberry Pi and IOT Technology

ABSTRACT:

In order to upgrade the conventional remote monitoring service, the embedded system design and implementation method for the wireless remote monitoring service, which provides a wireless image observation, is proposed in this paper. The first method is based on the embedded system design technique for a nearly real-time wireless image observation application service. The main idea of this work is the wireless image observation where the camera image of the remote real situation is obtained instead of the conventional limited survey of sensing information. This concept is very much useful in security applications. When anyone wants to observe the situation in the remote area of the building for security reason or something, they will use USB camera and to identify any person entering into the confidential zone, use PIR sensor. The PIR sensor senses the human movement and sends the logic signal to the controller. Then the controller triggers the USB camera to click the photo. Then the photo was stored in the internal SD card of the system. Here in this paper, we are incorporating the IoT concept in this paper that the taken snapshot images were sent to the predefined web server using the Wi-Fi module and also sent an alert E-mail to the user regarding this. To do this paper we are using the Raspberry Pi 3 board as a core, which is the advanced version of Pi 2 board. The Pi 3 board has more internal memory, speed and internal peripherals than the Pi 2 board. This Pi 3 board has in-built Wi-Fi module.
